Most dogs love playing outside, chasing toys, or going on walks—but Sidney, a 6 ½-year-old Black Tri Australian Shepherd, has a very different idea of fun. She’s a TV fanatic! While many pups enjoy the occasional glance at the screen, Sidney is a dedicated viewer with a favorite lineup of shows and movies.
From Mickey Mouse to Jessie, Austin & Ally, and The Descendants movies, Sidney has seen them all. She even loved The Good Dinosaur! Whenever the television is on, you can find her fully engaged, watching her beloved characters with great interest. And when she’s in the middle of an episode, there’s no way she wants to be disturbed.
One morning, while Sidney was enjoying an episode of Mickey Mouse, her mom decided to test her devotion. She casually mentioned that she was going to turn off the TV—just to see how her furry companion would react.
That’s when Sidney’s inner problem-solver kicked in. Before her mom could even think about reaching for the remote, Sidney did something unexpected—she quickly snatched it up and hid it! With her paw wrapped protectively around her precious device, she made it clear: nobody was turning off her show.
Her mom was shocked and amused at the same time. She had seen Sidney react to TV before, but this was next level. Not only was Sidney paying attention to what was on the screen, but she also understood that the remote controlled the experience. And rather than risking an unwanted channel change, she took matters into her own paws!
Seeing her dog’s determination, Sidney’s mom couldn’t help but laugh. Instead of fighting for the remote, she let Sidney win and allowed her to finish watching her show. After all, how could she deny such a passionate little viewer?
Sidney’s love for TV just goes to show how intelligent and observant dogs can be. They don’t just watch—they learn. They recognize characters, voices, and even patterns in their favorite shows. And for Sidney, TV time is more than just background noise—it’s her entertainment.
