Capone’s early life was a heartbreaking reality of confinement and neglect. He spent his days in a tiny, filthy cage on his owner’s porch—a sad and solitary existence. For Capone, this was the only life he had ever known.
When PETA fieldworkers discovered him, they were determined to make a difference. They visited regularly, bringing treats and giving him the love and attention he so desperately craved. Despite their efforts, the owner refused to relinquish Capone, insisting, unbelievably, that the dog “liked it in there.”
When not confined to the cage, Capone was tied up on the same dirty porch, his life devoid of freedom or joy. For over a year, PETA worked tirelessly to improve his living conditions as much as they could, refusing to give up on this sweet, deserving dog. Then, fate intervened.
When Capone’s owner had to enter hospice care, his family finally agreed to hand him over to PETA. In that moment, Capone’s life changed forever.
Today, Capone is living his best life in sunny Florida with his new loving family and his canine sister, Luna. Gone are the days of chains and cages. Now, Capone enjoys running freely in the sunshine, playing to his heart’s content, and exploring parks and beaches. Every wag of his tail tells a story of hope, resilience, and gratitude.
