Tied to a tree in the freezing cold was a 2-year-old American Bulldog, abandoned with nothing but a note. The note read: “My name is Duke. Here’s my favorite toy and my food. I am looking for a new home.”

The discovery left the community in shock. One neighbor, Stephanie Dagenhart, was particularly moved by Duke’s plight.
