Beachgoers Attempt To Rescue A Stranded Great White Shark

Video captured by a concerned onlooker showed a lifeguard and one other man attempting to rescue the stranded shark by grabbing it by its tail and dragging it into deeper water.

A rescue attempt of a great white shark was made by a group of lifeguards and beachgoers in Auckland, New Zealand, however the fish didn’t survive.

It didn’t take long for a crowd of nearly 100 people to gather around the shark, which was roughly 6.5ft in length, after it was trapped in shallow water at Orewa Beach, located on Auckland’s Hibiscus Coast.

This is the same beach that was shut down on Christmas Day after two great white sharks were sighted by a police helicopter swimming around a quarter mile from the shoreline. They were estimated to be 6.5 ft and 10ft in length.
