It all started with a simple tweet from internet personality and “full time animal mom,” Taylor Nicole Dean. The caption reads simply, “Look how happy this gecko is with his little gecko toy.”

Dean has quite the following, and soon the jolly lizard was launched to internet stardom when his smiling mug went viral.
