This Sanctuary Was Built For Animals Impacted By A Devastating Tornado

Every time you purchase a Grey Jade Stone bracelet or Red Rosewood Bracelet with the signature brick and paw pattern charm, you help us contribute to shelter rebuild success stories like the one below!

In May of 2013, Moore, Oklahoma, was hit by an EF5 Tornado that wreaked havoc on the ground for over 45 minutes. The effects were widespread throughout the area, and had a major impact on wildlife.

Wildcare is an incredible wildlife organization based in Noble, Oklahoma that serves the area by rehabilitating and releasing a staggering number of birds, mammals and reptiles each year.

After the Moore tornado inundated their facilities, it became clear that there was a great need for more space to house animals in this highly disaster-impacted area.

Rescue Rebuild, a volunteer-based program that works to rebuild animal shelters, traveled to Wildcare in July of 2013. There, they aided in installing a new metal enclosure for skunks and raccoons to recover and prepare to be re-released into the wild.

The Rescue Rebuild team spent a week in the blistering hot Oklahoma sun wearing heavy welding jackets and gloves to make this project a reality. The team was super excited to play a part in keeping critters safe during their stay at Wildcare!
